Formats a decimal value as a currency string, except without the currency symbol, using the culture of the user currently logged in

Parameters

htmlHelper
Type: HtmlHelper
an instance of the HtmlHelper class
decValue
Type: SystemDecimal
a decimal value

Return Value

Type: String

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type HtmlHelper. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
Remarks

In some cultures, such as en-ZA (English, South Africa) the decimal format is defined as "1 234.56" while the currency format is "1 234,56", so it is sometimes necessary to distinguish between the two types for parsing/validation purposes. (see also: DecimalToPlainCurrencyMvcHtmlString)
